To demonstrate the worst blackout of USA in its history, this narrative infographic was designed to ease the understanding of the incident. The poster displays information about the blackout both in large and small scale, addressing the details with the assumption that the reader was completely unaware of the blackout. To visualize and to create a narrative to speak to the general public about an event that is fact based, layout, color, typography, and graphics were all brought into thought.

History of Chicago's Skyline
Infographic Design | Winter 2018
Tools Used Adobe Illustrator Poster Size 20 x 30˝
Chicago is famously known for its architecture and beautiful skyline. However, these buildings and view did not just happen at once. Instead, it came along with long history dating from the Great Chicago fire that happened in 1871. From this fact, the question that came in my mind was “How did Chicago really become famously known for its architecture?”
In this project, I’ll be presenting an infographic poster about the aftermath of the great Chicago fire and history of Chicago’s skyline. The purpose of the infographic is to educate people the general background of Chicago’s skyline: what happened during the Chicago fire, change in regulations of Chicago’s building code and how Chicago has become the city as of now. The reason behind choosing an infographic poster instead of a book or writing was because I believe that graphic elements and images are the fastest, easiest and friendliest way to deliver large amount of facts to the general audience.
In order to study both the history of Chicago fire and history of Chicago architecture, the research method used for this project was through books and educational web sources. Through careful extractions of information from each source, I was able to construct graphic elements and writings of information for the infographic poster.
